HONORING OUR PAST...
PROTECTING OUR FUTURE
Our Mission:
In partnership with its Board Members and Club Members, to preserve the Lake George Club's historic integrity, aesthetic appearance and sense of community.
Founding Principles:
We, as members, are what makes the Lake George Club what it is today. Like those that came before us, we are responsible for its preservation for generations to come
Our Vision:
To preserve our past for future generations.
Our Inspiration:
For over 112-years, the Lake George Club's Clubhouse and property have been a centerpiece that brings us together as a family of friends.
Our Intention:
To raise $2MM for an endowment to provide historic restoration and repair to our Clubhouse and surrounding buildings for future years.
Our History
For over 100 years, members like us have enjoyed great community, leisure, competition and a beautiful clubhouse on the shores of picturesque Lake George. To ensure that the historic clubhouse we all treasure lives on far into the future, the board created The Lake George Club Historic Preservation Foundation, Inc.
The Foundation allows us all to be part of creating a tax-exempt, $2 million endowment, the sole purpose of which is to provide the resources needed to restore the historical integrity of our clubhouse, as well as to handle repairs quickly, avoiding higher costs in the future.
About The Foundation
The Lake George Club Historic Preservation Foundation is a tax-exempt entity dedicated to helping ensure the maintenance and restoration of our historic clubhouse. Created in 2017 to assist with long-term capital planning, the Foundation’s path to our planned $2 million endowment began by engaging The Chazen Companies to conduct a reserve study of our facilities.
The assessment provided a description of the clubhouse’s general condition and concept-level recommendations to address identified or suspected deficiencies. On the basis of this study, a schedule of repairs, maintenance and replacements was created.
It is estimated the annual cost of restoration and repair is $100,000 annually.
Progress to Date
The Foundation has raised $1,636,711.04 to date
